TKA is a Christ-centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for a Controller who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school's Christ-centered mission. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the month-end close process and the external audits.
Essential Job Functions
Regular Activities
Mentor a group of students by meeting daily as part of the school's home group program
Ownership of the monthly accounting close
Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts, identifying anomalies and rectifying
Prepare monthly journal entries with supporting schedules/documentation
Perform general ledger reconciliations and all journal entries and adjustments
Maintains oversight within the company for the accuracy and compliance of transactions/processes
Approve all accounts payable invoices, backup A/R and A/P departments
Act as the primary reviewer for payroll, and backup to the payroll department
Participate in continuous process improvement to streamline and enhance internal controls
Assist the Director of Finance with various reporting (building and issuing reports)
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field required
7+ years experience in public accounting/industry experience working in accounting required
Strong working knowledge of GAAP rules and internal controls
7+ years experience with QuickBooks

Excellent skills in communicating both orally and in written form
Ability to meet all deadlines with accuracy and efficiency, asking questions when needed
Strong organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to lead by example
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite
Ability to learn new computer software systems

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Required to use the computer throughout the day
Work will be performed from the campus
Will move throughout the campus during the day
May occasionally have to lift up to 20 pounds
Work is generally performed, Year-Round, Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
This position will occasionally require you to work nights, weekends, and overnights (for trips/events). As much advance notice as possible will be provided.
