Job Description:

Robert Half is is seeking a strategic and experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and lead our clients accounting team. As a key member of their executive leadership, you will play a critical role in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning for their property management portfolios.

Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for multiple properties and portfolios.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  4. Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  5. Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and liquidity, including oversight of banking relationships and cash forecasting.
  6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  7. Audit and Tax Compliance: Coordinate audits, reviews, and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Systems Implementation: Utilize expertise in Yardi or similar property management software to optimize financial reporting and operational efficiencies.
  9. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives, financial analysis, and business planning.
  10. Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee vendor contracts, negotiations, and procurement processes to optimize cost efficiencies.


Qualifications:
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within property management or real estate.
  • Strong proficiency in Yardi or similar property management accounting software.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control principles.
  • Experience in strategic financial planning, analysis, and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
