Job Description:

Wells Fargo Treasury is responsible for managing Wells Fargo's balance sheet including capital, liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk management. Treasury seeks to ensure Wells Fargo always maintains sufficient capital and liquidity resources to support growth in the Company's businesses, while also ensuring a satisfactory financial cushion exists to protect against unforeseen stresses in the economic environment or the Company's operations. Treasury also provides regulators, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors with key information to support risk management, financial performance management, and strategic planning.

The Balance Sheet and Interest Rate Risk (BSIRRM) Group performs quantitative analysis of the balance sheet behavior and has primary responsibility to measure interest rate risk (IRR) and design corresponding risk management strategies. The group oversees IRR simulation models, provides Management with balance sheet and risk profile insights, and contributes to the generation of risk management strategies

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Treasury Director to lead the Balance Sheet Production function in BSIRRM reporting to the Head of BSIRRM. This team will own data and analytical processes for delivery of the balance sheet/NII forecast used for planning, interest rate risk management, stress testing, legal entity management, scenario analysis, etc.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead Balance Sheet Production to efficiently deliver the balance sheet forecast with a strong emphasis on risk management, accuracy, speed, and transparency
  • Interface with business finance leaders to ensure robust and controlled design and execution of forecasting processes that collectively support business and treasury management needs
  • Partner with treasury leaders on liquidity, capital, NII projection, scenario, and data related initiatives
  • Support process and technology transformation efforts working alongside Technology and Finance teams
  • Oversee and ensure accurate recurring deliverables are completed and compliant with various treasury risk management and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit and Corporate Risk Management
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the broader BSIRRM team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement to ensure delivery on team objectives
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 15 years of experience in a public or large private financial services company
  • 7 years of experience leading large (30+) geographically dispersed finance application production teams
  • Comprehensive understanding of finance processes, systems, and regulations, with expertise in areas such as balance sheet reporting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
