Slot Attendant 

Department: Slot Operations 

Classification: Key 

Exemption Status: Non-exempt 

Reports To: Slot Shift Supervisor 

Pay Grade: TBD 

Location:  All GLC Properties 

Position Summary — The Slot Attendant is responsible for actively monitoring and providing services in their assigned area including: assisting with jackpots, fills, machine malfunctions and general guest service. 

Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation. 


  • Performs minor machine maintenance. 


  • Completes department forms and paperwork as necessary. 


  • Develops and maintains a friendly, courteous rapport with customers and staff. 


  • Operates hand-held radio – hearing and speaking clearly using established signals and codes. 


  • Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret complex written and oral instructions. 


  • Effectively interprets machine conditions by use of self-diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques. 


  • Responds to floor calls in an expeditious manner. 


  • Maintains security of equipment, records, and keys. 


  • Consistently follows complex procedures. 


  • Troubleshoots, identifies and prevents equipment problems. 


  • Maintains a clean, neat and safe gaming floor environment. 

Qualifications   


  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and casino guest services experience required. 


  • Cash Handling experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  


  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with fellow team members, management, and guests. 


  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and basic office skills.  


  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex written and oral instructions. 


  • Knowledge of troubleshooting methods for assessing machines and equipment.  


  • Ability to accurately count currency. 


  • Ability to remain calm in emergencies or stressful situations. 


  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. 

Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age. 

Physical Requirements — Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb, bend, or kneel for extended periods. 

Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights. 

Special Working Conditions — Position requires flexibility to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
