Summary:

Our company is seeking a Hydrogeologist / Groundwater Modeler to join our Chantilly, VA team. As a key member, you will work closely with senior technical staff on various environmental and water-resources related projects. Your primary responsibilities will include, collection of field data, conducting aquifer testing, aquifer sampling, analyze aquifer data, build 3D geologic models, providing groundwater modeling and quantitative hydrogeological support for high-profile clients. Project management experience is preferred but not required, as is the ability to establish and maintain client relationships. Hybrid working opportunities are available, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the Chantilly, VA office.

Your Role:


  • Collaborate with technical staff and client service managers to provide geological and hydrogeological expertise on projects.
  • Execute projects and contribute technical knowledge in areas such as groundwater investigation, supply studies, remediation efficacy, groundwater-surface water interaction, and numerical modeling.
  • Evaluate and interpret test data to build conceptual models of groundwater regimes, including contamination.
  • Participate in groundwater flow and transport modeling for various project types (environmental, water supply, mining, oil, and gas).
  • Determine the nature, extent, fate, and transport of contaminants at environmental sites.
  • Provide technical documentation, presentations, and potentially engage in task/project management and business development.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in geology or geology related fields with a BS degree, or MS in geology/hydrogeology plus >1 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of different drilling methods, geophysical techniques, and hydrogeologic characterization studies.
  • Experience with hydrogeological conceptual models and geologic framework models (e.g., EVS, Leapfrog).
  • Familiarity with groundwater modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW) and inverse modeling.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct aquifer testing, data evaluation, and digital groundwater modeling.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
