Job Description
The Water Quality Sample Collector is responsible for performing regulatory compliance sample collection in support of the operations and water quality groups. The position will also assist with performing non-compliance sample collection as well as data entry and retrieval for all of the Company's systems into the Water Information Management Solution (WIMS) system. The position will be responsible for interfacing directly with customers to facilitate the collection of routine compliance and customer requested water samples as required. Responsible for generating reports for department use and providing administrative office support to the department as needed.
Collect water samples from operations facilities, commercial and residential customer locations in accordance with industry best practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
Communicate directly with customers regarding the need for sampling using appropriate messaging.
Work with Operations and Water Quality staff to schedule sampling to ensure that compliance with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health monitoring requirements are met.
Assist in development and refinement of standard operating procedures for water quality monitoring processes.
Prepares sample containers and chain-of-custody forms for use
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
High School Diploma required
Must have ability and desire to learn about common water quality issues and attend technical training on water quality issues
Experience working in a science, engineering, laboratory or other technical environment preferred
Must have high proficiency in computer skills
Must have great communication skills
1+years' experience required
Must have a valid drivers license
