The Indigenous Nations Studies Department (INST) welcomes applications for a 9-monthNTTFTeaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track continuous appointment). In addition to teachingINSTcourses, the successful applicant will be expected to have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
Instructional duties will include teaching courses in Indigenous Traditional Ecological & Cultural Knowledge; e.g., First Foods, Food Sovereignty, Indigenous Land Practices, Cultural Ecology, Indigenous Science and Sustainable Leadership, Tribal Internships. The teaching load is 3/3/3 with possible course releases for community-oriented duties. The Indigenous Nations Studies Department is actively engaged in rethinking service in academia this position seeks to recognize the unique balance of community-oriented service we provide to our Indigenous communities by braiding teaching and community engagement as the primary actions by which this position will provide service to the university. The position description is incorporated by reference in the Notice of Appointment, consistent with the practices outlined for fixed-term faculty in the currentPSU-AAUPcollective bargaining agreements (Article 18).
