Database Developer

Hybrid (Pipersville, PA)

Contract to Hire

The purpose of this position is to develop and maintain the various Database systems that our client utilizes for its existing and future IT projects. The Database Developer will also be responsible for working with technical stakeholders of various IT projects, as well as the existing database developers and administrator on staff.

Responsibilities:
• Design, create, modify and remove database objects (tables, views, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, DB links, etc.) to support development projects.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future database products and services.
• Data expert for migrating data from existing applications and database environments to new architecture.
• Document database structure and dependencies (ER Diagrams)
• Support Testing efforts from a database perspective.
• Respond to support requests for bugs & issues reported.
• Maintain database objects in a software version control system.
• Adhere to industry best practices & standards for Agile/Scrum Frameworks adopted by our organization; this includes (but is not limited to) daily stand-ups, grooming, planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, demos, and analytics via systems (JIRA) administration to directly support initiatives set by Product Management and the company.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database Programming, database design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures
• Strong ability to profile and debug MS SQL database code.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software/database issues independently
• Experience in using Microsoft BI tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
• Experience integrating with existing ERP systems.
• Experience with creating Data Flows/ ER Diagrams
• Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Graph database experience a plus.
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related processes; exposure to JIRA tools.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-Motivated / Ability to Dig in and Analyze existing code
• Flexibility to adapt to change and reprioritize tasks, maintaining a sense of urgency.
