POSITION PURPOSE
The Sr. Procurement/ Materials Planning Specialist will source, negotiate and purchase any and all related production materials as necessary to support production. This function will utilize the company's ERP system to drive MRP for demand planning and execution of planned orders in support of Sales forecasts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Analyze, manage, and implement actions relating to material requirements that ensure an uninterrupted flow of materials and services for Production using MRP, Pull Indicators (e.g. kanban, min/max, manifests, etc.).
Schedule the delivery of the materials in an optimum manner to support the production schedule.
Prepare and communicate the six-month rolling forecast to the critical materials suppliers per monthly Sales, Inventory & Operation plan
Monitor inventory levels to determine if material on hand is sufficient
Process purchase order requests for machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies
Verify nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests
Coordinate with internal customer and supplies to ensure timely deliveries of PO to support project deadlines
Maintain S2S consumable material supply system by monitoring, communicating, adding new part numbers, and adjusting replenishment levels
Review, monitor, approve and coordinate ECO requests with internal and external trade partners
Work with Accounts Receivable to reconcile pricing and invoicing discrepancies
Anticipate and proactively mitigate risks to material procurement commitments
Initiate and analyze necessary reports to communicate up-to-date material tracking and availability status to key stakeholders
Advise management of the status of material availability, and potential problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Need minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a production-based logistical or inventory environment.
Strong analytical skills in production planning a key asset.
Experience in working with various ERP Systems utilizing procurement and planning modules.
