REPORTS TO: SVP of Automation and Robotics Engineering

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Automation Engineer with a strong robotics background, you'll lead groundbreaking automation projects from inception to seamless execution. You'll transition these innovative projects to our plant manufacturing engineering team for production initiation upon implementation.

Your role will encompass the entire project lifecycle:
  • Identifying and justifying needs
  • Drafting detailed scopes of work
  • Selecting premier vendors/integrators
  • Ensuring top-notch quality and design

You'll also ensure all equipment meets rigorous standards and oversee implementation at various facilities across North America.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Electrical Standards Knowledge: Understanding of electrical standards for the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • 3D CAD Competency: Proficiency with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Programming Skills: Familiarity with Visual Basic Programming, Ladder Logic, and other programming languages.

  • Automation Expertise: Proven success in implementing automation within traditional manufacturing environments.

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing design elements, tools, systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design Principles: Proficiency in Data Analysis, DOE, FMEA, DFM/DFA.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong automation, electrical, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Team Collaboration: Capability to work collaboratively and independently in a team environment.
  • Robotics and Manufacturing Line Development: Hands-on experience with manufacturing line development and robotics training.
  • Continuous Improvement: Passion for safety, workplace organization, and constant improvement, focusing on Lean Tools and Lean implementation.
  • Process Integration: Knowledge of automation and process integration.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Travel Readiness: Valid driver's license and passport.
