Overview
We are seeking a mid-level Network Engineer with approximately 5 years of experience for a full-time direct hire position in Schaumburg, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on Aruba wireless networking and a solid foundation in Cisco technologies. This role involves the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a complex, multi-site LAN/WAN environment, ensuring highly available and scalable networking solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and restore functionality.
Serve as the subject matter expert for all networking-related concerns, providing top-tier support.
Plan and execute network infrastructure upgrades, including a significant Aruba wireless network upgrade.
Perform preventive maintenance on network equipment.
Respond to network complaints, issues, and outages promptly.
Research and integrate new networking technologies.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
Provide technical support to users and other IT staff.
Current Projects
Upgrading the wireless network with Aruba technology.
Managing 1200 access points.
Supporting a fiber project, including a dark fiber initiative across 20 locations.
Overseeing a network of 6000 iPads and 3000 mobile devices.
Extensive experience with enterprise networking and a variety of hardware vendors, including Wi-Fi design and management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Security-first mindset with a thorough understanding of networking best practices.
Preferred Experience
Experience with Aruba wireless networking.
Familiarity with large-scale network upgrades and maintenance.
Experience with Cisco hardware and networking solutions.
