Information Technology Specialist

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will be an integral part of our IT team, responsible for providing technical expertise and support in various aspects of information technology. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing network infrastructure, implementing security measures, and supporting end-users with their technology needs. A successful candidate for this position should possess a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest IT trends and advancements.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring optimal functionality and system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues reported by end-users, either in person, over the phone, or via remote support tools.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement IT solutions that meet the organization's needs and align with industry best practices.
  • Implement security measures to protect the organization's IT assets, data, and network from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure high levels of availability and reliability.
  • Respond to IT-related inquiries from end-users, providing timely and effective support, guidance, and training as needed.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with IT policies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including software and hardware upgrades, system migrations, and technology implementations.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential benefits and recommending relevant solutions to enhance IT capabilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to resolve technical issues and obtain necessary hardware and software support.
  • Assist in managing IT inventory, including tracking and maintaining records of hardware, software licenses, and other IT assets.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications and additional technical training are advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role, demonstrating a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), productivity software, and common business applications.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, LAN/WAN configurations, and network security concepts.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues and resolving technical problems efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach issues systematically and methodically.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and multitask effectively.
  • Understanding of IT security principles and best practices to safeguard data and systems.
  • Proactive attitude towards learning and self-development in the constantly evolving IT landscape.
