Job Summary:

AmberSemi is growing fast and looking for a Senior Field Applications Engineer to act as the technical interface between external customers, internal product development, and marketing teams. This role will specifically be focused on supporting the company's accounts located in North America and Europe, partnering with AmberSemi's business development and marketing teams to engage with key customers to secure design wins and collaborations/partnerships.

This FAE is also responsible for defining and sharing current and emerging customer technical needs to improve tactical and strategic product positioning. AmberSemi is developing disruptive power and power management products for consumer and industrial applications.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • This work will involve a combination of lab work with the internal engineering, technology roadmap with product management and design in collaboration with business development teams. This knowledge base will be overlaid with end customer requirements, testing expectations, and demonstrating evaluation on-site at customer facilities.
  • Provide deep technical support to customers: schematic and PCB layout review and provide further support to ensure design wins.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of each demonstration platform and how each test will apply to future product development along with adhering to sales strategies. You will need to be in direct communication with the customers in their lab, coordinating demos and sending documentation.
  • Support internal teams and external customers in the qualification, and proto-type development of partner products integrating Amber's technologies.
  • Domestic and International Travel required for partner testing and customer integration.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Skilled hands-on engineer with good lab instrumentation skills
  • Knowledge in electrical circuits, power electronics & power management products
  • Proficient in using a variety of test equipment and electronic laboratory instruments.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, processors and embedded systems is a plus.
  • Experience in a technical applications sales engineer role is a plus.
  • Ability to identify requirements before the customer does.
  • Excellent organizational, communication & technical writing skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Preferable background in semiconductor industry and/or power conversion products

Education and Experience:
  • BSEE or higher degree required
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant industry experience in power management and analog systems.
  • Hands-on experience with point-of-load DC-DC and AC-DC power conversion. Experience with multiphase preferred.
  • Ability to interface directly with customers and solve customer problems. Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills, self-motivation and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English with ability to communicate at all levels written and oral.
  • Compensation based on experience and skill sets.
  • Domestic and International Travel required.

Compensation:
  • Salary: Range from $130,000-$200,000 - based on experience and skill sets
