Senior Process Engineer - Glass Melting

Your Tasks
  • Observes all safety, hazardous waste, and security procedures.
  • Evaluates, develops, and improves existing and new manufacturing methods.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and continuously improves production processes.
  • Identifies root causes and implement deviation management system that allows for Pareto of issues
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgement. Supports decisions with reasoning and facts.
  • Adapts to frequent changes in the work environment, delays, and unexpected events.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout for maximum efficiency utilizing LEAN and 6S principles.
  • Works with Production, Quality and Engineering departments to implement in-process yield measurement system. Uses data collected to develop corrective actions and execute to improve yield over time.
  • Identifies capacity of production line. Makes manpower and machine recommendations to Supervision, Supply Chain and Engineering teams that align with takt time goals.
  • Communicates work instructions, process information and results clearly to the work crews.
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles. Takes calculated risks to achieve results.
  • Capable to work as part of a team and independently to solve problems.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, works towards department goals and objectives to meet productivity standards.
  • Develops and implements cost saving measures to conserve organizational resources.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
  • Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Maintains flexibility regarding hours of work depending on production.
  • Monitors all aspects of glass quality and adjusts process parameters to continuously improve production results.
  • Utilizes structured methods (e.g., PDCA and DMAIC) for derivation and implementation of continuous improvement activities.

Your Profile
  • BS Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering. Or other related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience. Glass melting experience highly preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Proficiency with DMAIC methodology
  • Proficiency with SAP, SQL, Tableau, and Visual Basic
