Must have: Design experience in CAD & mechanical aptitude
Job Duties:
Design and develop molds
Collaborate with engineering to create products, molds/tools, and processes
Provide engineering support to the product design team, customers, and other departments, including automation, molding process, and quality control
Regularly assess progress and communicate with management and departments about any concerns or issues affecting mold delivery
Participate in corrective action plans to ensure molds/tools meet standards and expectations
Interface with CNC machining, designers, programmers, and other personnel to assist in routing, planning, work instructions, problem-solving, and expediting mold/tool components on assigned jobs
Consult with engineers, production personnel, programmers, and others to resolve product and equipment issues
Coordinate engineering changes from concept through production release
Attend all new tool samplings to review and document improvement items
Visit molding areas to assist in troubleshooting issues, making adjustments/repairs at injection molding machines during sampling and testing
Develop unique solutions to address product design and manufacturing challenges
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the plastics injection molding process
Experience in plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing
CAD experience (NX preferred)
Demonstrated initiative and results-oriented mindset, with a willingness and ability to implement change
Previous experience as a toolmaker is a plus
Strong logical thinking and attention to detail
Rapid prototyping experience is an advantage
Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, IQMS, and Outlook
