The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Responsibilities/Duties
This position provides mid-level procurement activity support and requires procurement experience in a wide-range of items such as IT, vehicles, test equipment, corporate and business development items, furniture, space and flight related hardware, as well as electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts, materials, services, and equipment. Duties for this position include: overseeing entire lifecycle procurement process; developing RFPs and soliciting cost and technical proposals; evaluating vendor bids and negotiating terms and conditions; issuing agreements; processing procurement transactions in the procurement system and CostPoint; and ensuring proper compliance with company procurement policies and procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Public Laws and other supplemental regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree & 2 years of professional relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of Procurement processes and procedures in a Government Contractor environment.
Willingness to learn Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) requirements and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Familiarity with Representations & Certifications, SAM.gov debarment list
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively
This position requires US Citizenship.
Excellent computer skills to include MSOffice Suite
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience working in purchasing in support of NASA programs desired
Prior experience using Deltek Costpoint preferred, but not required
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certificate or similar certificate preferred
Active membership in a professional organization related to the procurement field preferred
