We are looking for an Underwriter for the New Jersey Commercial Auto department. The ideal candidate must have an analytical mind, and the ability to provide a superior customer service experience to our Independent agent community and policyholders.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Complete internal training having shown demonstrated ability to make independent and sound Commercial Auto underwriting decisions. This will include strong product and coverage knowledge.
Provide extraordinary service to our policy holders and agents while assisting them on all aspects of the New Jersey Commercial Auto product.
Learn to utilize the company's various systems and procedures to provide knowledgeable and professional customer service on inquiries regarding billing and underwriting of Commercial Auto accounts.
Process transactions accurately and expeditiously in accordance of established procedures and service metrics. Transactions may include new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
Achieve and maintain company productivity, accuracy and time service compliance standards.
Analyze accounts to determine proper processing and classifications. Gather necessary information for decision making through effective communication with agents and utilization of third party reporting data.
Develop and foster Agent/Company Relationships with assigned agents
Manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Complete and / or assist team members with projects as needed in a timely fashion.
Maintain a positive demeanor and work well in a team environment.
Qualifications and Education
Three years' experience in an Insurance Underwriting or similar position. Experience in automobile insurance including knowledge of commercial automobile products and rating is a plus
Strong analytical and decision making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
Very detail-oriented and strong self-motivating individual with the ability to work independently in a team environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
New Jersey Agents license is recommended
