Overview
TECHNICAL WRITER / GRAPHIC DESIGNER - OSS is looking to hire a qualified Technical Writer/Graphic Designer. SECRET Security Clearance is required.
The Technical Writer Graphic Designer will:
Research, create, and maintain comprehensive technical product manuals, specifications, and bulletins that are appropriate for the intended audience
Work closely with various departments to ensure finished documentation meets requirements
Develop and maintain content with a consistent format across all documentation channel
Obtain a deep understanding of products and services to communicate complex product information into simple, professional, and engaging content for greatest comprehension
Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement
Conceptualize impactful graphics, figures, tables, and other presentation elements to optimize the impact of information
Create, adapt, and follow project schedules and deadlines
Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals.
Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation
Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users
Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SME’s), conducting thorough research, developing customer and program deliverables while gaining firsthand insights into work processes
Qualifications
Bachelors and 5 Years of Experience in Technical Writing or an Associates and 10 Years of Experience in Technical Writing
Must have 2 Years of Experience in Graphics Design
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable using text, graphics, illustrations, and photographs
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must work well in a team environment
Strong customer service skills
Problem-solving skills
Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule
Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs.
Strong technical writing background and familiarity with military operations manual’s objectives, formatting, and style.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
