JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's Talent Development and Retention Team is looking for a Development and Retention Specialist to fulfill the following duties:
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for Development and Retention (D&R) systems, including but not limited to the performance management tool, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Supports the full performance management process, provides performance management training, coaching, and reports to various stakeholder groups.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Performance Management Process and System Support:
Provides support to all aspects of the University's performance management process and system. Responds to inquiries from faculty and staff regarding the tool, process, planning and evaluation phases. Offers excellent customer service when troubleshooting questions and requests related to performance management systems, processes, and statuses. Resolves issues and responds to emails and calls in a timely manner. Consults with the D&R supervisor regarding performance management decisions and enhancements.

20% - Essential - Data Entry and Management:
Uses PeopleSoft (PS) to research performance management data and enters data as needed. Works with CCIT to ensure alignment between PS and the performance management software. Runs weekly reports to ensure data is processed accurately and in a timely manner. Requests corrections of PS data as needed through the Business Process Validation or HRSC units.

20% - Essential - Intradepartmental Collaboration:
Collaborates with the Training and On-boarding (T&O) team to deliver performance management training as part of established programs or ad-hoc as needed. Identifies improvements to training material and works with T&O team to adjust course instruction.

10% - Essential - Recommendations and Process Improvements:
Collaborates with the D&R supervisor and HRSC managers to provide metrics and trends for specific departments and suggests opportunities for improvement. Escalates concerns timely and uses the HR Service teams and OnBase Super Users to share broad findings or upcoming actions and apply corrections or enhancements.

10% - Essential - Workshop and Assessment Design, Implementation, and Facilitation:
Facilitates team building and behavioral assessment tools and workshops. May occasionally lead development efforts to include conducting needs assessments, identify data sources and benchmarks (using tools such as interviews, surveys, behavioral assessments), design and implement team-building exercises and workshops, evaluate program success and report on related metrics.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience - Relevant Program Experience

Work Experience - 1+ Year(s)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
