PKL Services Inc. will provide E-2D, MH-60R, MH-60S, and P-8A organizational level (O Level) maintenance in support of Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX-1). Work will primarily be performed at VX-1, Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, Patuxent River, MD. 20670.

About this role

The Aircraft Mechanic I perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on aircraft airframe, power plants, corrosion control and painting, electrical and related fuel systems for T/M/S/ aircraft hired to maintain. Also perform flight line essential services as directed by the daily Flight Schedule.

Other Responsibilities include:

Repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Make repairs to aircraft and follows direction of higher graded workers. Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti- icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Read and interpret manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily, Service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, Specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair. May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration if not certified on a specific aircraft platform. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. May service engines and airframe components at the organizational levelwhile making repairs, short of overhaul,to keep the aircraft in safe operating condition. Any and all other duties as assigned by the Aircraft Site Manager.

About you

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be authorized to work in the United States. A minimum of four (4) years of extensive experience in Organizational O Level aviation Experience in duties of a Plane Captain for TMS aircraft hired for. High/Low Engine turn, APU turn is desired. Contractor personnel shall be able to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI), eligibility for a SECRET clearance. Shall be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems. Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications. Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions. Shall become familiar and develop a thorough understanding to document maintenance utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) OOMA, automated maintenance documentation system within ninety (90) days of employment.

Travel:
Fifteen (15) percent TDY travel may be required on occasion.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

Will traverse into high noise workshop areas or near active jet aircraft operating ramps. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind.
