Summary:

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategies that protect and enhance the image and reputation of the company. This highly visible position will provide communications counsel to senior leaders, create communications materials that promote key strategic goals and proactively manage critical issues impacting the organization.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Works with senior leaders and corporatewide experts to understand the health care landscape, key issues and trends, and how they could impact our organization.

• Works with colleagues and external partners to develop proactive strategies for managing issues impacting our organization.

• Helps to create communications to support these strategies, including news releases, speaking points, stories, digital content and more. Ensures consistent messaging throughout.

• Proactively plans for and executes our responses to key issues through dynamic storytelling, data, powerful messaging and other content to help protect the company's reputation.

• Collaborates with colleagues to monitor media coverage and public sentiment during a crisis.

• Quickly compiles urgent messaging based on feedback from multiple stakeholders that is clear, concise, and impactful.

• Provides strategic communications counsel to senior leaders when they communicate internally or externally.

• Works with teammates and external partners to identify external opportunities for executives to communicate and raise awareness around key issues and/or strategic goals.

• Creates content that establishes senior leaders as thought leaders in certain key areas.

• Serves as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and leaders within the organization. Provides counsel and guidance to executives around sensitive issues and crises.

• Contributes to highly visible and critical issues and assignments that are not restricted to the Health Plan alone but to the entire corporation.

• Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.

• Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.

• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

• Performs other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related discipline with 15 years of experience in progressively more responsible positions in corporate communications or public relations.

• Executive communications experience is required.

• Prior experience creating and successfully executing issues management strategies is required. Must be able to work fast and think strategically under urgent deadlines.

• An understanding of media relations and experience communicating about issues related to the health care industry and corporate business results is desired.

• An ability to take complicated business or health care content and make it relevant to the average person. Must be comfortable working with data and finding the story within the numbers.

• Strong storytelling, editing and creative thinking skills and proven record of successful communications strategy development and execution.

• A history of thinking and acting differently within their own work and among their teams.

• Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships and strategizing with senior levels of management.

• Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to lead discussions around communications strategies and tactics and adept at presenting strategy to various groups throughout the organization.

• Ability to work independently and to plan and implement multiple communications programs concurrently.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation and working on a computer.

• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.

Compensation Range(s):

Minimum $130,874 - Maximum $215,925

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
