The Boeing Company is currently seeking Mechatronics Maintenance Technicians for multiple manufacturing and production locations in the Puget Sound region in Washington State, in support of Boeing's Commercial Airplane division (BCA).

We are currently seeking skilled Mechatronics Maintenance Technicians to join our team and maintain cutting-edge manufacturing equipment in the Aviation industry. As a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced equipment such as Flex Tracks, High Speed Mills, Automated Tooling Systems, Carbon Fiber Layup Machines, and Multi-Axis Robotic Equipment, depending on your assigned location.

In this role, you will utilize schematics, blueprints, sketches, manuals, and your expertise to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical components on equipment. You will be responsible for using hoists, gantry cranes, and hand power tools to efficiently replace defective parts. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing valuable recommendations for facility and equipment design improvements.

Preventive maintenance inspections will be a critical part of your responsibilities, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing breakdowns or major overhauls. You will prepare detailed mechanical maintenance reports and charts, sharing this information with stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform continuous operational checks of equipment and perform preventive maintenance; Make inspection when requested to repair and maintain work necessary to prevent breakdown or major overhauls on assigned equipment.
  • Repair and/or replace defective electrical and mechanical parts on equipment
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, and summarizing information. Maintain Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) logs, charts, and perform written and verbal tie-in records.
  • Use shop tools including power and non-powered hand tools, and test equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers and phase rotation meters.
  • Use schematics, blueprints, sketches, specifications, manuals, written and verbal information, and applicable procedures, codes and ordinances.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position will require the following on a daily basis:
  • Frequent (3-6 hours) exposure to noise.
  • Frequent (3-6 hours): Sit, Walk, Stand, Climb/Balance, Rotation of Head/neck, Flexion (head bent down, head bent back), Twisting at the waist, Handling/Grasping, Keyboarding/Mouse, Repetitive motion, Fine finger manipulation.
  • Occasional (1-3 hours) Fine motor skills, lifting less than 10 pounds and sitting.
  • Occasional (1-3 hours) use of face, eye and head protection.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience working in the field of Mechatronics (AA degree in Mechatronics may be used in lieu of experience)
  • Ability to work at heights up to 125 feet above ground level and pass Fall Protection Training.
  • Ability to work overtime based on business requirements.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Currently posses an Associate's degree or higher in Mechatronics, Industrial Robotics, Electronics or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Ability to work around electromagnetic fields as a result of various types of production equipment.


Typical Education:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift:

This position is for a variety of shifts.

Ability to work 2nd shift with the opportunity to move to other shifts based on IAM contract and site needs.

Summary pay range: $32.10 - $45.04 per hour
