Scientist, Purification Process Development

Accountabilities:



As part of the Critical Pipeline Reagent Sciences Group (CPRS) within the Purification Process Sciences R&D department, you will generate biopharmaceutical reagents to advance the R&D AstraZeneca pipeline. You will perform purifications for complex biopharmaceutical drugs, solve challenging protein purification problems, and coordinate closely with various departments to meet project timelines and company goals.



Essential Skills/Experience:

• BS/MS with 2+ years experience in biopharmaceutical industry/academic lab


• Highly team-oriented, energetic, critical thinker, organized, capable of multitasking with excellent oral and written skills


• Knowledge of Basic Protein Chemistry, Protein Chromatography, Purification Process Design for Monoclonal Antibodies and Novel Proteins, Basic Analytical Techniques (HPLC and SDS-PAGE Analyses), Protein Modification by Conjugation, Statistics Software and DOE Analysis


• Experience performing protein chromatography using Akta/Akta software


• Experience performing analytical testing

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• GLP/GMP experience


• Experience with purification process design


• Ability to troubleshoot and collaboratively resolve complex problems under tight time constraints
