The IT Support Technician helps end-users with technical issues, maintains and monitors end-user workstations. They perform a variety of maintenance, software installation, end-user support and training tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet company and user requirements. They provide support to staff on all company-supported applications and troubleshoot problems, determine sources and advise on appropriate actions. In addition, they will have the opportunity to complete project-based work.



Job Responsibilities:


  • Help Desk related responsibilities:
    • Administers end-user workstations and supports end-user activities while tracking requests in our help desk system, currently Zendesk
    • Provides IT orientation for new and existing company staff.
    • Work as the liaison between end-users and 3rd party vendors such as Microsoft, Amazon, Verizon, Cisco, Slack, Apple, and Zendesk.
    • Investigates user problems and identifies their source; determines possible solutions; tests and implements solutions.
    • Installs, configures and maintains desktops, laptops, Macs, and mobile devices
    • Performs and/or oversees software and application installation and upgrades.
    • Troubleshoots systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
    • Develops and conducts various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; assists users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
    • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the end-users on the network.


  • Systems administration related responsibilities:
    • Maintain file servers, network cabling, switches, wireless controllers, printers and related equipment.
    • Perform configuration tasks in centralized system management tools, such as Microsoft Intune, for patching, inventory, and reporting
    • Support a small VMWare infrastructure
    • Support Enterprise SaaS systems such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Slack, ZenDesk, etc.
    • Assist with information security efforts related to email protection, EDR, firewalls, web content filtering, etc.
    • Management of IT assets: computers inventory, computers lifecycle management, Cell phones, etc.
    • Assist IT management with procurement process related to IT purchases: Vendors relationships, PO creation, licenses inventory management, telecom providers, etc.

Requirements




  • Degree in related field or relative experience.

  • 2+ years help desk experience with direct system administration experience.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.

  • Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks and related hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques.

  • Strong knowledge with Microsoft and Apple environments

  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.

  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

  • Autonomy and excellent communication skills.


Additional Information:


• This is an on-site opportunity that must be performed from our offices in Hayward, CA.


• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.

US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $60,000 - $83,000 per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
