Position: Heavy Equipment Operator
Reports to: Process Supervisor
Shift: 6am-2pm Monday-Friday, with overtime
Pay: $24/hour+

What you'll be contributing:
Under the direction of the Crusher Supervisor, maintains all crusher/clay/raw storage equipment, buildings, and grounds areas by completing assigned inspections, housekeeping and lubrication schedules for these areas.
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Schedule/perform lubrication and housekeeping of equipment operated daily
Maintain all roads, berms, faces, floors and grounds for safe operations in the Quarry/Crusher/Clay Quarry areas
Assist in safety inspections and compliance with environmental regulations and hazard controls as required by company, MSHA, EPA and TCEQ
Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational inspections on each piece of equipment operated; correcting problems by use of best judgment or notifying supervisor
Safely inspect belts and feeders in work area
Assist with Crusher and plant repairs from time to time
Ability to operate various sizes of front-end loaders, dozers, trucks, backhoes, blades, skid loaders, forklifts, haul trucks, etc.
Knowledge of rock conveying and crushing equipment and associated hazards
Relieve Quarry/Crusher/Clay Quarry personnel as needed to maintain production demands
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent is required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
Valid Driver's License and the ability to safely operate large vehicles
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Willingness to learn, training will be provided
Must be a self-starter able to work with little or no supervision
Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner
Ability to perform minor maintenance
Ability to reason through operational issues as they arise and resolve them or communicate with others
Knowledge of equipment used in the manufacturing of cement preferred
Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibilities
Excellent work and safety record
Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Lifing up to 50 pounds. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
