Job Description:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications through meticulous inspection, analysis, and implementation of quality assurance processes.

In this role, the primary responsibility of the candidate will be to support the shop floor. The Quality Engineer (QE) will oversee the review of procedures, specifications, and equipment to ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems. Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Interpret blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and prepare Inspection Method Sheets (IMS) for inspecting finished products.
  2. Reduce customer escapes by identifying non-conformance drivers and implementing mistake-proof solutions.
  3. Analyze final inspections of products and prepare First Article Inspection reports (FAIR) and First Piece Inspection reports (FPIR) per AS9102 specifications to verify compliance with requirements.
  4. Drive down scrap, rework, and repair costs through active participation in process monitoring and improvement projects
  5. Support the maintenance and enhancement of ISO9001:2008 and AS9100D credentials.
  6. Serve as a technical resource for Quality systems and document control for NADCAP-CMSP and NADCAP-NDT audits.
  7. Enhance manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to proactively reduce defects and prevent quality escapes to customers
  8. Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for customer and third-party audits, and perform internal audits to verify the effectiveness of implemented actions.
  9. Support Quality Initiatives and investigations, driving continuous improvement in quality standards.
  10. Conduct system, product, and process audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and oversee prompt closure of Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
  11. Participate in technical investigations and contribute to immediate risk containment measures, as well as systemic mistake-proof solutions to enhance quality, cost-efficiency, and delivery performance
  12. Lead a team focused on achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives through empowered decision-making.
  13. Develop and deliver technical training for inspection and operations teams
  14. Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and process engineering teams to address quality concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  15. Communicate, track status, and provide solutions for deviations and non-conformances affecting products or processes at various organizational levels.


Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and minimum of 3+ year's prior relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry, with comprehensive knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 standards and NADCAP requirements.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and preparing Inspection Method Sheets (IMS).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and conducting Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS13100-standards and PPAP/APQA Understanding of the Aerospace industry and associated regulatory requirements and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proven track record of driving quality improvements and achieving results in a manufacturing environment.
