McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond is a progressive regional CPA/Business Consulting Firm based in Maryland. We are currently seeking a Construction Tax Manager to join our practice, working from our Timonium, Maryland office. The manager will build strong relationships within the firm and with our clients. Someone with a passion for developing relationships and strong client management skills is key. This leader will further develop and manage the Construction Tax practice through application of technical skills, leadership abilities and engagement management experience, and act as a resource to other Firm offices to provide service assistance and/or technical expertise as needed.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
CPA required
A solid foundation and understanding of Construction Contact Accounting
Knowledgeable in the various tax accounting methods available to Construction contractors
Experience advising and planning with pass through entities for taxpayers operating in multiple taxing jurisdictions
Supervise, train and review the work of Staff and Senior Tax Accountants on tax engagements
Minimum of 6 years of experience in the tax area of public accounting
Provide tax advisory services to construction clients
Technical review experience
Supervisory experience required with a passion for mentoring associates
Tax group operations experience a plus
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Knowledge of CCH Axcess (Workstream/AutoFlow), or equivalent programs, required
Demonstrated strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Provide exceptional client service through strategic thinking, sense of urgency, and quality deliverables
Responsibilities
Review Business Tax Returns
Manage Construction Client Business Relationships
Supervise, train and review the work of Staff Tax Accountants on tax engagements
Plan, budget and oversee job efficiency for tax engagements
Tax planning and structuring including tax research and writing of technical memoranda
Conduct tax research
Identify value-added solutions for clients
Maintain accurate records for client billing system
