Summary

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work collaboratively with our business, operations, analytics, and IT teams. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and building out decision making products in the spaces of marketing / lead generation, conversion optimization, and customer retention. This role reports up to the Director of Data Science, within the Data Science & Marketing Analytics team. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a data science role where they have been building predictive algorithms and data products ideally related to marketing, business operations, or customer retention; with an emphasis on customer experience.

What you'll do:

What you will do:
• Seek new and improved ways for us to use data in our products, operations, and business strategies.
• Collate and curate data from various stages of the sales funnel to create high quality datasets for analysis and modeling.
• Own and manage projects from start to finish -this includes understanding our business, scoping the problem statement, defining the data requirements, building out models, and presenting to stakeholders.
• Align data science projects with organizational goals while leading change across the company to adopt data science products/models.
• Champion a culture of innovation and creativity within the data science team and the company.
• Design and execute data products in marketing, business operations, and customer retention spaces with a customer-centric focus.
• Advise partners as a subject matter expert on all things data.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity & usability.
• Help build out the data science team while mentoring junior data science team members.

What we're looking for:

5+ years of experience in a data science role, building predictive algorithms and data.
• A collaborative team player who can work with fellow data scientists and cross functional partners (ML Ops engineers, business/account teams, marketers, subject matter experts)
• Ability to scope, ideate, spearhead, execute and manage projects from problem definition to stakeholder management to deliver tested data-driven solutions.
• Demonstrated experience and track record with end-to-end data science processes (not only specific stages of the ML lifecycle).
• Excellent understanding of machine/deep learning techniques and algorithms (XGBoost, random forests, logistic regression, SVM, KNN, k-means clustering, PCA, neural network, deep reinforcement learning, etc.)
• Ability to communicate findings and complex concepts clearly to a non-technical audience.
• Proficiency with PySpark, Python, SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Experience with big data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks) and distributed computing frameworks.
• Relentlessly curious - always asking questions and challenging the status quo.

• A lifelong scholar that is excited to learn new data science technologies
• Objective with the data by demonstrating ability to cut through noise and tell a compelling story with data that impacts and drives business decision making.
• Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial in nature with an ability to think outside the box,
• BS/MS in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or other STEM disciplines)
• DTC industry experience preferred.
