Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote)
Note: Candidate must be willing to come into the Tampa office 5 days a week if arrangements change.
Overview:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting for a Bridge Loan Underwriter position for our client, located in Tampa, FL. This role involves underwriting loans in accordance with company guidelines and ensuring loans meet various program requirements. The successful candidate will have private lending exposure, 4+ years of experience within mortgage/secondary markets, and at least 3 years of underwriting rehab, ground-up construction, and bridge type loans.
Responsibilities:
Loan Underwriting: Underwrite loans in accordance with company guidelines.
Loan Application Review: Review and reconcile loan applications to ensure compliance with various program requirements.
Pipeline Management: Manage an ongoing pipeline of loans through the loan buying process and report on the status of loans within the pipeline regularly.
Credit Committee Presentation: Present loans to the Credit Committee for exceptions and approvals.
Documentation: Condition files for missing/supporting documentation according to secondary market guidelines.
Third-Party Reports: Order and perform the preliminary review of all third-party reports (e.g., appraisal, background reports, inspections, and environmental reports).
Due Diligence: Collect, analyze, and approve all required due diligence.
Property and Market Assessments: Perform property and market assessments to evaluate property conditions and market/submarket dynamics.
Communication: Communicate and document reasons for approval or rejection of loans to ensure clients and loan officers are well-informed of decisions. Communicate effectively and professionally with originators, counterparties, and vendors.
Mentorship: Mentor and train junior staff as needed.
Experience: 4+ years of mortgage/secondary markets experience with at least 3 years of underwriting commercial and business purpose loans such as bridge, rehab, and construction.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Work Arrangement: Must be willing to work in a hybrid setting; subject to change as required by management.
Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US.
