Description Overview

The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for managing inventory and stock levels to ensure efficient operations at our Wisconsin infant formula manufacturing facility. This role involves receiving, verifying, and organizing incoming shipments, maintaining accurate parts and materials inventory records in SAP, and collaborating with the parts buyer to ensure the timely availability of spare parts and equipment.

Scope of the Role

• Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, noting discrepancies and damages.
• Organize and maintain the stockroom layout for efficient storage and retrieval of items.
• Utilize SAP for accurate recording and tracking of stock levels, including entering new items and updating existing records.
• Perform regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Pick and pack orders for internal and external customers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with purchasing and inventory control to reorder low stock items.
• Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports on stock movements, adjustments, and inventory levels for management review.
• Maintain the physical condition of the stockroom to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Handle the proper disposal or recycling of packaging materials and defective or expired stock.
• Communicate with the Parts buyer, Reliability Engineer and Maintenance Manager on any shortages, discrepancies, or damaged parts.
• Assist with annual inventory and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.

Experience Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a stockroom or inventory management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of computers and experience with inventory management software, preferably SAP.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor, including standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience using specification systems and computer data management.
• Demonstrated competence in SAP to support business requirements.
• Experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including report writing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and SAP are preferred.
• Basic understanding of statistics.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented approach to projects and assignments.
