Physical Requirements Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Driving to various satellite clinics as needed.
Shift Day shift. Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Job Summary The Department of Ophthalmology seeks to hire an Ophthalmic Assistant at our Shriner’s Clinic. Customer service orientation is key to this position, viewing every patient as a customer while maintaining professionalism in interactions.

The Ophthalmic Assistant – Non-Certified is the entry level position for those wishing to gain ophthalmic technician experience with UK Advanced Eye Care.

We want to be the preferred provider for sub-specialty ophthalmic eye care and optometry, and will train you, on the job, in the various skills and diagnostics required to appropriately care for our patients. We encourage continuing education and eventual certification for our ophthalmic technicians. This position is expected to demonstrate excellence in customer service, greeting patients in the waiting room and bringing them into the clinic for initial intake and preliminary testing.

This position will learn and eventually demonstrate a basic knowledge of the various diagnostics that are used in our practice. In addition, as part of the clinical team, this position will help maintain adequate supplies in the clinic in patient rooms and procedure rooms. We are a fast-paced, patient-centered enterprise and seek to hire individuals who enjoy working in this type of environment.
