Job Description



VERTEX is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience conducting indoor air quality and asbestos inspections to join our growing Industrial Hygiene practice in Branchburg, NJ. We are looking for people who are passionate about ensuring safe workplaces for all and have the drive to grow their careers and develop with us.


What you will be doing:

• Assist in the management, oversight, and review of inspection/assessment projects for a variety of public and private clients


• Conduct Asbestos/Lead surveys, project monitoring, IAQ/mold assessments, and/or Industrial Hygiene assignments


• Write detailed technical assessment reports including the preparation of accurate data/summary tables and/or figures for peer review


• Assist in management and training of project-level staff


• Prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for sites


• Meet utilization and other performance metrics


• Seek opportunities to expand client services with existing and new clients as part of ongoing business development

Qualifications

• BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field


• 3+ years of professional experience in the execution of indoor air quality and mold assessments, asbestos and lead-based paint inspections, including report writing and field investigation


• AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector Certification and Monitor Certification (New Jersey) or training completed to apply for the licenses at the time of application


• Health & Safety Certifications pursuant to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120


• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills in English


• Strong technical report writing skills


• Ability/willingness for frequent regional travel for fieldwork, valid driver's license is required


• Ability to perform multiple tasks and priorities and perform exceptionally under fast-paced conditions


• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


• Ability to walk job sites and climb ladders during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain, and carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity
