THE ENERGY SERVICES ANALYST POSITION
Sunnova Energy is searching for an Energy Services Analyst to be responsible for supporting the management of the Sunnova Renewable Energy Credits (REC) portfolio and the strategy development and implementation of Grid Services and Grid Power programs.
This individual will optimize our participation in existing REC markets while supporting top-line REC Portfolio growth through new market entries, as well as support our ongoing success across new initiatives within the Grid Services business. This role requires collaborating with internal stakeholders (including Finance, Legal, and other departments) to successfully scope and model analyses for active and prospective programs in the Energy Services function, including running diligence with internal and external sources to inform underlying inputs.
Energy Services Analyst Responsibilities
Supports market research through internal trend analysis, industry intelligence report review, etc
Evaluates potential impacts from regulation and policy changes to develop recommendations associated with changes
Develops and manages internal reports that summarize and inform program development, including partnership opportunities, utility and ISO programs, etc
Performs program and deal modeling exercises, including scenario analysis, structured transaction reviews, value/cost reduction analysis, etc
Supports the forecasting and portfolio optimization process
Communicates variances in positions and risk metrics effectively
Develops strong relationships with internal stakeholders to consolidate information and highlight risks and opportunities
Supports the development of the environmental products desk with a growth mindset and creative approach to problem solving
Drives continuous process improvement in the operation of internal Energy Services functions
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
3+ years' experience in energy market analysis, including scenario analysis, internal trend analysis, industry intelligence report review, etc
2+ years' experience working with Renewable Energy Credits (REC) portfolios and the strategy development and implementation of Grid Services and Grid Power programs
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Legally authorized to work in the US for ANY employer
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in environmental products and/or grid services
Experience working in Salesforce and Tableau
Practical experience in methods of data retrieval, processing and modeling
Proficient with VBA, SQL, Python or other database languages
Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Versatility in working across multiple enterprise applications
Self-starter who is a critical thinking problem solver with a can-do attitude
