About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager responsible for delivering capabilities to transform our Contact Center service to better serve our business teams and customers. Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) provides a customer the ability to communicate with Wells Fargo to access products & services (inquires, transactions, open new accounts) in the channel and manner they chose. The sr. manager will be responsible for guiding agile teams to focus on customer experience leveraging conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI), data availability for reporting, analytics and Machine Language/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) use cases and core call center operations capabilities.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
  • Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement
  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed
  • Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
  • Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices
  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
  • Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to have the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for product areas and products to meet business objectives and strategy, as well as conduct performance management for engineers and managers
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of Management experience
  • 6+ years of strong expertise in real time domains such as Contact Center technologies and sub domains such as Cloud Native event driven Micro services with mature APIs, Routing, IVA, NLU/NLP, Omnichannel Agent Desktop Experience, CRM integrations, Work form Management/Optimization, Recording & Transcription, Modern Historical and Real-time Data and Analytics, AI/ML Enhanced Solutions etc.
  • 6+ years of proficiency in programming languages and leading teams doing development in Java, Python for microservices with REST API, Secure Web Sockets/gRPC; Modern Browser technologies and languages such as React, Angular, Redux, RXJS, Typescript, Bootstrap; DevOps technologies such as Jenkins, Maven, NPM and relevant frameworks and libraries
  • 6+ years of solid understanding of delivering solutions with cloud technologies, microservices and micro front end architecture, WebRTC and SIP integrations
  • 3+ years of Management experience of proven experience in software development, with a focus on building highly scalable and highly resilient cloud applications
  • 3+ years of leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, mentor junior engineers.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing multiple teams responsible for complex solution deliveries with cloud native microservice and modern cloud tech stack technologies(Java, SpringBoot, React, Python, Maven, NPM, NoSQL, Redis/Gemfire, Kafka, Elastic Search, Gra[hQL, Graph DB, Atlassian toolsets_.
  • Experience in all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle, development and testing tools and frameworks, True CD and experience with Agile at Scale
  • Experience with vendor and CRM integrations in the Contact Center domain or equivalent real-time mission critical domain.
  • Experience managing SoW, MSA contracts with vendors per firm's guidelines and risk and controls processes.
  • Advanced experience in managing and delivering agile/scrum products in technically, complex environments
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience including hiring and talent development practices
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams of engineers designing, programming, and deploying solutions for Java 8+ environments
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategy roadmap in a large technically complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholder relationships across multiple business units or technical domains
  • Banking or Financial Services experience
