About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer for a newly created individual contributor role in our Consumer Credit Risk organization.

This person will report directly to the Head of Consumer Credit Risk Policy & Governance Execution and will be responsible for the coordination and execution of, consumer credit policy strategic initiatives, communications, executive responses across Consumer Lending and Consumer Small Business Banking lending activities. It is expected that this role understands full credit-life-cycle credit is able to learn intricate details of credit management governance.

In this role, you will:
  • Spearhead virtual team wide initiatives to develop and implement formal changes across consumer credit policy governance
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the team, governance team, and various support partners in achieving business deliverables; includes: planning and implementation of strategies, policies and process advancements
  • Develop and implement reporting/information delivery/presentations with key stakeholders and senior management within responsible area, including root cause, cost/benefit, and risk analyses
  • Establish priorities and drives accountability for assigned initiatives, providing leadership to ensure solutions are designed, integrated and controlled to optimize effectiveness, account for all aspects of risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
  • Track strategy activities with performance, review impact of enterprise/business policies, and generate responses for formal process changes.
  • This person will be a key driver of operating efficiency by bringing to life the critical initiatives across the Consumer Credit Risk organization.
  • Work with key internal and/or external partners, possibly including Corporate Risk and Senior Leaders to distill complex concepts into pragmatic and simplified/targeted solutions
  • Advise senior leadership to develop and implement, programs and policies with a direct impact on credit risk appetite
  • Review and provide challenge of line of business credit, programs, and policies
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management
  • Interact with audit, legal, compliance, external agencies, and regulatory entities on risk related topics
  • Be an impactful team representative in senior leadership forums
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • Strong risk background and broad familiarity with regulation and risk requirements
  • Experience with policy and procedure management
  • Demonstrates an ability to challenge senior leadership and influence decision-making
  • Executive presence that will enable effective partnering with business aligned CRO's and CEO's in driving strategic credit decisions and resolving credit related issues
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization including senior executive-level leaders
  • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
