JOB SUMMARY:

Oversees the planning, development and implementation of complex financial, managerial and accounting policies and procedures applicable to the financial needs of the College of Engineering, Computing and applied Sciences. Performs executive-level financial duties. Oversees budget development, accounting, compliance and financial planning for CECAS and three innovation campuses. Performs other duties assigned..

JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential: Oversight and Direction of the fiscal responsibility for budgeting, reporting and balancing with the University's target allocation of state appropriations, self-generated revenues, & foundation funds. Advises college leadership on budget allocations and revenues, and master position commitment tracking. Responsible for operational processes and procedures including compliance. Reviews business processes for all academic units, recommends budgetary action as needed. Develops strategies and initiatives that strengthen the Colleges financial and budget functions.

25% - Essential: Leads and supervises CECAS Business Office team, and a team of college-level accountants spanning across four innovation campuses in the daily functions of the college's budget. Conducts annual performance evaluations for all direct reports. Provides leadership and set the strategic direction of financial planning and strategy in accordance with the University policies and procedures to the college's financial team. Prepares presentations and reports for Department Chairs, COS, Dean, and EVP level leadership as needed. Develop financial training and best practices for the College. Implements changes in to ensure best practices.

25% - Essential: Provides high level financial reports to executive leadership in the college. Implements changes as required. Responsible for ensuring overall financial health of the college. Leads and directs team during annual budget process and year end processes. Advises departments on annual allocations. Provides guidance with department chairs on strategic revenue growth to achieve Clemson Elevate goals. Working with college leadership establish and maintain CECAS long-range CECAS projections on all funds. Prepares reports for external and internal stakeholders.

10% - Essential: Coordinates with the COS/COO and office of strategic initiatives to incorporate the College's new strategic initiatives and operational models related to RBB and ERP into the College's short range and long range financial plan. Advises on modifications of developed plans to ensure financial alignment with College financial objectives. Upon approval of business plans, directs and manages the financial implementation team to execute the new initiative. Leads complex financial projects on behalf of Dean and Chief of Staff as required.

10% - Essential: Serves as CECAS representative on committees regarding strategic changes in financial modeling working closely with University EVP level leadership to meet University level goals and objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses and professional experience directing accounting, auditing, banking, or finance functions.
Work Experience: 1+ years

Develops Department Budgets - Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added.
