Frontier Audio Labs is looking for extremely hardworking and resourceful candidates with experience in embedded software systems. As a member of a very small team, candidates should expect to own immense aspects of the R&D and product development process while learning and adapting quickly. Lastly, while Frontier Audio Labs as a startup may not be able to offer top-bucket cash compensation starting off, this position will include a significant (multiple percent) equity stake.
Responsibilities |
Drive development and implementation of embedded software for company's devices
Implement cutting-edge technologies
Quickly prototype and test software on hardware
Contribute to long-term hardware and software architecture and strategy
Collaborate closely with acoustic, DSP, and mechanical engineers
Work with algorithm, chip, and other vendor partners
Develop IP to strengthen company's quickly growing portfolio
Qualifications |
Required
Dedication to creating products stretching the boundaries of possible
5+ years of software design, coding, and debugging experience with C in an embedded environment
5+ years of experience working with microcontrollers, and familiarity with standard communication protocols like, I2C, SPI, UART and I2S
5+ years of general experience (including personal time or school) with hardware/electronics with substantial proficiency in soldering, rework, etc. and using electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, signal generators, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
2+ years of experience developing firmware for new electronics product entering production
Experience with radio engineering and/or communication standards like WiFi and Bluetooth
Experience developing software for Qualcomm, ADI, Greenwaves, or Airoha chips
Self-driven engineer who can independently prioritize and "get things done"
Must have ability to be qualified to work in the U.S. in less than 3 months and have no restrictions for international travel
Preferred
Experience developing software for battery powered consumer electronics devices
Experience developing algorithms using MATLAB & Simulink
Experience with circuit design and assembly
Experience developing for real-time audio (sample rates, buffering, PCM, drivers)
Members of our engineering team have degrees in Software or a similar field (DSP or electrical engineering, physics, etc.), but if you have taken a different route to gain the required experience, that is acceptable
