Take direction and work with the sales team on potential bid opportunities.
Review entire architectural drawings for the project, including any provided fire alarm, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, floor plans, and reflected ceiling.
Could you identify any specific equipment requirements?
Survey the field conditions of existing sites before or during the estimating process.
Layout devices per architectural drawings, applicable NFPA requirements, and site conditions accurately on computer-based PDF software (Bluebeam).
Calculate estimated labor needs based on existing site conditions, scope of work, device requirements, and project schedule and accurately attribute them to a work breakdown structure in our estimating software.
Identify and establish estimates for inclusions and exclusions.
Work with the operations team on change order needs and develop estimates for change orders on existing projects
Participate in WIP meetings to understand job cost over- and under-projections.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the fire alarm industry is required, estimating and/or field experience is preferred
Able to operate independently with minimal direct supervision
Must build positive working relationships with multiple employees and management levels across departments.
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A valid driver's license with good driving record
Preferred Qualification
NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems is preferred.
