The Restaurant Server (RS) is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the food service venues of the hotel. The Server sets-up, services, and breaks-down the food and beverage areas where they are assigned ensuring a high level of quality, consistency and service.

Job Description

The Restaurant Server is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests in a courteous and efficient manner. This role ensures guests have an outstanding dining experience by providing exceptional service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

• Greet guests promptly and courteously.


• Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.


• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.

Order Delivery:

• Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.


• Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any issues.


• Clear tables and reset them for the next guests.

Payments and Transactions:

• Present the bill to guests and process payments.


• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and use the POS system accurately.

Cleanliness and Organization:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and floors.


• Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure a seamless dining experience.


• Assist in the training of new staff as needed.

Additional Duties:

• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.


• Perform other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or management team.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


• Knowledge of food and beverage offerings.


• Basic math skills for handling transactions.


• Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.


• Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as needed.

Additional Job Information/Anticipated

Pay Range

$13.50/hr plus gratuities. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
