Position Overview:
The Staff Analyst will review Medicaid claims, analyze and audit health related data, perform reimbursement calculations, prepare documents supporting professional decisions, exhibit the ability to identify and investigate areas of provider fraud, abuse, or misuse of Medicaid and other health care related systems.
Essential Functions:
Independently perform various analyses and audits relating to Medicaid engagements, with a focus on identification of provider fraud, abuse, or misuse of Medicaid funds
Review applicable Federal and State Medicaid policies and regulations relating to healthcare reimbursement
Conduct research in order to determine billing and reimbursement compliance with relevant
Medicaid or other government program regulations
Review, summarize, and apply policies and regulations specific to various analyses and audits
Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information encountered during performance
Prepare and distribute analytical data reports and/or records
Work with the defined scope of the project
Mentor, train and provide assistance to other team members
Handle phone calls and e-mails from providers to answer any questions

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Informatics, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or related field
CPA, CPA eligible, CFE, AHFI or RHIA preferred
Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Windows
Familiarity with SQL and report writing desired
Must have strong ability to analyze data to identify issues and potential fraud
Organized and detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments
Ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
The Team: Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Managers or Senior Managers on the Cost Report/DSH engagement team.
Work Style: Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.
