Role: Loss Prevention and Safety Supervisor

Reports to: Loss Prevention and Safety Manager

Location: Mooresville, IN

The Role

Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Assists with leading, training, coaching the loss prevention team. Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities. Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, auditors, and others. Always represent the company in a positive and supportive manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (position titles directly reporting to this position):

  • Loss Prevention Agents and safety trainers assigned to the area

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, and others. Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times.

Essential functions include, but not limited to:

  • Supervise, Lead and assign job responsibilities to all loss prevention department and safety personnel as directed by the department supervisor.

  • Supports the manager with growth and development of the team

  • Ensure all loss prevention team members arrive on time, take scheduled breaks or lunches as required and stay within the scheduled time frames.

  • A department supervisor is responsible for productivity tasks and to keep a steady work flow within the loss prevention department.

  • Assists in identifying associates that perform below the set goals and support with retraining. May assit with coaching the loss prevention associate.

  • Train team members on proper procedures, protocols, and best practices as directed by the department supervisor.

  • Secures all Distribution Center premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points. Support with building, and premisses walk-throughs

  • May assigns tasks and supervises the work activities of subordinates

  • Supports the Safety Department with New Hire Orientation and Building Tours as needed

  • May support, prepare and distributes work schedules for the loss prevention team.

  • Engages with all loss prevention team members, security personnel, operations leadership team and demonstrates a positive experience towards all personnel.

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

  • Serves ands supports as a lisasion for emergency personnel including, but not limited to police, fire, hazard, poison control, among other local, state and federal agencies

  • Respond to alarm company off hours calls and may cover additional work schedule shifts as needed

• Minimum of 2-year security experience required
• Knowledge of security procedures for a distribution center environment or equivalent
• Able to work in a warehouse environment, able to work in different weather elements
• Able to sit/lift/bend/walk repeatedly
• Ability to work effectively under a fast-paced conditions
• Exercise diplomacy when dealing with people in sensitive situations
• Apply active listening techniques in order to obtain complete and accurate information
• Apply the principles of supervision to direct the work activities of subordinates
• Rapidly prioritize a variety of tasks and take appropriate action
• Ability to apply first responder techniques in performing emergency first aid and CPR
• May be required to work irregular hours, holidays, weekends and overtime.
• May be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
The following are the required competencies an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

• Proficient understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be able to Read, Write, and Speak the English Language
• Must have patience and the capability to train/teach associates.
• Ability to learn to operate necessary job tools.
• Ability to operate equipment & lift to 50 lbs.
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to understand all functions through training.
• Ability to follow safety procedures
• Highly motivated, a team-player, and self-starter
• Must be willing to cross-train outside of your immediate department.
• Demonstrate high levels of dependability.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Forklift Certification required
• Valid Drivers License
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving equipment and mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work activities are subject to a significant volume change due to the business' seasonal nature.
