Litigation Legal Assistant Aid at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC in Dallas, Texas

Job Description:

Beacon Hil Legal is seeking a Legal Assistant Aid for our client a Texas based litigation firm. This position is 100% in (Dallas) office and requires 1-2 years of legal experience.


This position will provide a wide range of file clerk support function to legal assistants and attorneys.



JOB REQUIRMENTS



1 year on the job experience necessary to perform file clerk duties in a professional setting



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Strong organization skills


• Filing Proficiency


• Ability to type at a level of 50+ WPM


• Excellent communication and presentation skills


• Excellent attention to detail

DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain hard/electronic files as well as loose filing and file cabinets


• Assist assigned legal assistants and attorneys with copy jobs, faxing, scanning, and certified mail


• Responsible for scanning green cards and fax confirmations


• Closing Files - scanning everything in NetDocs and routing to determined destination


• Making sure all attorney notes & research is scanned in and saved in NetDocs


• Check with legal assistants throughout the day


• Monitor emails throughout the day from legal assistants or attorneys


• Purge old files


• Process and scan files to be entered into NetDocs


• Work with electronic storage media, such as hard drives, floppy drives, and CD-ROMs


• Handle duties/projects as needed by the firm


• Communicate with Court Staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (walking, lifting, equipment, operation, etc.)

• Ability to retrieve and distribute files, written documents or file boxes weighing up to 12 pounds


• Ability to replace objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high


• Ability to sit/stand long for long periods of time

This position reports directly to assigned legal assistants and attorneys
