Job Summary:
Senior-level database administration and programmer support, responsible for designing, developing, updating the data infrastructure to extract organized data for authorized individuals to access Applies knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures to technical assignments Conducts activities related to the administration of databases Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, create, and maintain databases in a client/server environment.
Conduct quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
Design, implement, and maintain complex databases with respect to scripting languages, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
Apply knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., COGNOS)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).
Perform database programming and supports systems design,
Maintain database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage integration of systems through database design.
Identify internal and external data sources, collaborating with department heads to determine their data storage and organizational needs, and using the information to create and maintain data infrastructure for the organization.
Collaborate with business and other IT organizations to plan a data strategy.
Produce all project data architecture deliverables.
Create and maintain a repository of all data architecture artifacts.
Brief plans, status, and issues to higher management levels.
Identify installation solutions for new databases.
Identify areas for improvement in current systems
Coordinate with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines.
Audit database regularly to maintain quality.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
10-15 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, or related field
Math and computer science proficiency
Ability to analyze and present statistical information.
Mastery of specific types of databases, such as relational or foundational databases
Experience with database management software
Data management skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms.
Excellent attention to detail
Multitasking ability

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
