Position Summary

As the Brand Partnership & Experiential Marketing Specialist, you will be at the forefront of creating and executing national-scale lifestyle partnerships and events that embody Subaru's brand essence. Your role will involve crafting unique Subaru experiences that drive brand awareness, customer consideration, and loyalty. These initiatives will highlight the Subaru Love Promise, resonate with the passions of Subaru owners, and leave lasting impressions.

The lifestyle partnerships will include subject areas such as outdoor adventure, sports, the environment, horticulture, and more, and may strategically change over time.

Major Responsibilities


  • Promotes events, partnerships, and the impact of our connections and the work we're doing in this space through stories collected from our Subaru retailer network via Subaru-owned communications including but not limited to: Relationship Marketing, Social Media, Corporate Communications, and Website Operations teams.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Subaru of America (SOA) Corporate Communications, Advertising, Auto Shows, Creative Services, and Social Media teams, as well as agency third parties, to develop and execute earned marketing communications plans, media events, content development and capture opportunities, and cross-promotional opportunities. Works with retailers to ensure that the developed retailer activation plan is functional and effective and that the communications and promotional materials are being utilized as intended. Solicits and analyzes feedback from the retailers to share with Manager for further action.
  • Collaborates with rest of the Brand Partnerships and Love Promise team in the Marketing department to promote and integrate assigned partner organizations across other areas and activations.
  • Develops and leads engaging experiential marketing series with partners and third-party event and advertising agencies that resonate with our customers and target audiences, support Subaru vehicle launches, showcase our vehicles, and integrate the Love Promise. May also provide creative briefs and work on designing giveaways.
  • Maintains responsibility for partnership maintenance to ensure that partnerships are mutually beneficial and strategically support Subaru business and marketing objectives. Keeps abreast of day-to-day operations and serves as conduit of information between Subaru and our partners. Works with Manager to develop Request for Proposals (RFPs) and negotiates and oversees contracts/agreements, contract/agreement deliverables, and program implementation. Reports on impact and success measurements and conducts regular stakeholder meetings.
  • Oversees event planning and activations, alongside Manager, including fulfilling day-to-day planning and administration of the events and activities, including their volunteers and Ambassadors. Serves as on-the-ground support day-of the event, inspects Subaru brand presence, and provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Researches partnership opportunities within relevant subject area by becoming knowledgeable of the trends and forecasts within that industry and community. Recommends potential partnership opportunities to Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Translates the partner value and programs across various organization levels, including executives, Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Communications, Customer Advocacy, Legal, Risk Management, and Field departments.
  • Coordinates logistics of large national fleet of promotional vehicle for assigned partners by working to Corporate Vehicle Services and ensuring that needed vehicles are ordered and driving violations are addressed, as well as that vehicles are strategically located, receive scheduled maintenance, and are transported safely and to meet needs of partners.
  • Applies continuous improvement to existing projects and partners by finding more significant Return on Investment (ROI) on partnership investments, leveraging all partner benefits, exploring new mutual benefits, and finding greater efficiencies.
  • Uses research, data, and trends to inform decisions and recommended courses of action.

Required Skills and Personal Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, including creative brief writing
  • Ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including the executive team
  • Team player with strong relationship-building skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving abilities
  • Preferred experience in the automotive industry, field operations, retailer (dealership) operations, brand management, strategic marketing, partnership marketing, and event marketing.

Education/Experience Requirements: 4-Year College Degree (BA, BS) and 4-6 years' of relevant experience

Work Environment

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Internal Work Environment: Must be an "Authorized Driver"
  • Travel Required: 25%. Overnight travel, night and weekend work on game days and event weekends.
  • Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)

Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $67,900 - $87,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
