Overview
Perform laboratory procedures such as molecular biology techniques, virus production, primer design, PCR, western blotting, DNA gel electrophoresis, mammalian cell culture, and flow cytometry.
Collect, record, organize and verify the accuracy of data; keep detailed and accurate laboratory records; tabulate data, perform statistical calculations, prepare charts, graphs and reports. May use software applications to assemble, manipulate, format and compare sequencing information. Query publicly available databases for genomic information. Assist with preparation of figures, tables and reports for publications and grants. Perform preliminary interpretation of results and determine whether they are consistent with experimental goals.
Perform functional drug screening and/or CRISPR/Cas9 library screens on primary human peripheral blood samples and cell lines
Read literature applicable to research areas as required and actively participate in laboratory meetings and planning sessions. May be asked to present data to group in a seminar format and/or at scientific meetings.
Maintain bacterial and tissue cultures for experimental purposes.
May order chemicals, reagents, and other laboratory supplies.
Operate a variety of instruments and scientific equipment.
Responsibilities
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with major courses in field of research
Prior laboratory experience

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time
Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Access, Word, and PowerPoint) on Window OS. Ability to accurately type 60wpm
Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person
Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships
