The Part-time Accounting Assistant role will provide you an opportunity to work closely with the accounts payable processing to ensure it in line with all aspects of compliance and relevant responsibilities in the Finance Shared Service Center process model. You will be verifying calculations, checking or allocating codes, checking or obtaining information for incorrect of incomplete documents and establishing and maintaining accounting and fiscal policies and controls.


In a part-time capacity, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions related to various accounting procedures in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger Accounting; and support Shared Services staff where needed.



Job Responsibilities



  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.


  • Review and audit employee personal and credit card related expense reports within the U.S. ERP, ensuring proper supporting documentation is provided and following Corporate and Local policies.


  • Assist in Accounts Payable where needed processing vendor invoices and payments, and reconciling vendor statements.


  • Assist the General Ledger staff with bank reconciliations and Chart of Account reconciliations.


  • Interface and communicate tactfully and effectively with staff at all levels.


  • Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures, while encouraging Continuous Improvement of all processes including Safety programs.





Job Requirements:



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.


  • Students seeking a business degree in accounting are preferred.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to learn new software quickly.


  • Ability to treat information in a confidential manner.


  • Strong attention to detail.


  • Competencies: accurate, independent, organized, pro-active, service minded, team player.
