We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of engineering, HVAC field experience, controls and/or Cx work experience. One of the commissioning agent's key responsibilities is to verify function of HVAC systems. Other responsibilities include performing design reviews, preparing technical reports and documentation, and establishing strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers and contractors. Job description
Lead and manage multiple commissioning (Cx) projects from award through acceptance/occupancy while maintaining customer satisfaction, quality, schedule, and project budget. Must have the ability or desire to work in the field performing site visits, inspections and functional testing of commissioned systems - HVAC, building automation, lighting, electrical, renewables, etc.
Perform design reviews of project documents for conformance with design requirements and LEED.
Create functional performance test procedures for building systems using our library and software tools.
Perform field inspections, witness equipment startups and test and balance activities.
Perform field functional performance testing with contractors to verify and tune systems for optimum performance.
Prepare deliverables, including technical reports, Cx reports, system manuals, assessments, and LEED documentation as it relates to commissioning.
Responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and managerial aspects of Cx projects.
Create and maintain positive professional working relationships with clients, architects, engineers and contractors.
Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a combination of five (5) or more years of engineering, HVAC field experience, controls or commissioning work experience, with an understanding of the following required: LEED Cx, HVAC, test and balance, electrical systems, life safety systems, energy audits, HVAC controls, lighting controls, or energy analysis of building systems.
Mechanical Engineering bachelor degree with field experience OR equivalent field and management experience in HVAC or building automation systems required
Field testing experience and desire required
PE and/or CEM certification is preferred
Commissioning certification is preferred (BCA or AABC)
Project management experience is preferred
Necessary skills: technical writing, communication, time management, MS Word, MS Excel
