Summary/Objective

The Innovation Design Lead is a strategic, impact-driven and dynamic role that will work alongside the Chief Program Officer to map out program design and data frameworks to drive impact. You will leverage your workforce development and design thinking expertise to facilitate and consult with project stakeholders to develop program concepts, theory of change, logic models, empathy maps, personas, and continuous improvement cycles. Your curiosity to understand the story behind data helps you connect the dots. You work across the organization setting the standards for all programs with an equity lens. You will empower teams to understand challenges, identify solutions and guide them toward an appropriate set of action-oriented outcomes. You can easily engage in both broadly defined parameters and tactical deliverables.

Program Design

Provide consultation in project planning discussions and make recommendations on strategies grounded in design thinking principles, complex systems theory, and deep equity practice.

Design programs based on evidence-based research that drive impact and outcomes.

Convene focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and maintain feedback loops to adapt program design and learning.

Establish program design framework for a range of programs and develop data tracking dashboards.

Maintain/administer current data systems and tools; troubleshoot issues through to resolution.

Provide consultation in project planning discussions and make recommendations on strategies grounded in design thinking principles, complex systems theory, and deep equity practice.

Support program team in analyzing and reflecting on theories of change and build robust monitoring and evaluation systems to track progress and impact.

Cultivate an environment of iterative thinking, continuous learning and innovation.

Program Management

Manage complex projects to ensure overall successful performance, including scope, resourcing and timely quality deliverables that meet stated objectives.

Must be able to clearly explain your work, process, and decisions to teammates and cross functional stakeholders.

Facilitate and prepare polished presentations tailored for a diverse audience.

Participate in project planning discussions and make recommendations for use of technology and development of tools; provide support in evaluation of projects.

Actively participates in the development of a comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, leading implementation across program areas.

Provide direction and mentorship to team members.

Required Skills/Abilities

Bachelor's Degree or 10 years experience required; graduate degree preferred.

5-10 years of program management, program evaluation, workforce development or related field.

Experience designing and applying monitoring and evaluation systems.

Demonstrated experience in human centered design or related design thinking.

Excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding people skills and self-awareness.

An impact-oriented leader with a strategic mindset.

Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and present data related to systemic barriers to workforce development in the local labor market and its diverse communities.

Strong project management background, you thrive bringing ideas to life, you are detail oriented and have a proven track record of moving ideas to execution with ease.

History of leading with humility, possessing a deep sense of mission.

Work Environment

Duties are performed primarily in an indoor environment. While outdoors and/or in the warehouse, employees in this position are subject to adverse weather/traffic conditions, exhaust fumes, and equipment noises. Workdays and hours are subject to need and availability to ensure operational coverage throughout the work week. However, daily demands of the business may require occasional early arrivals, late departures as well as weekend work.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.

Lift or move supplies or other objects, up to 20 pounds.

Travel Required

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
