The Residential Director for grades 7-12 provides leadership and oversight to the residential programs for middle and high school students. The focus is on developing life skills and supporting students toward high school graduation and beyond. This employee serves as a member of the Child Services Team. This is an exempt position.

Core Responsibilities
Supports and models the Catholic Mission and the Native American Culture that are the foundations of St. Joseph's Indian School. Empowers Staff under his/her supervision to be able to promote a reclaiming environment for all students through the Circle of Courage.
Responsibilities
1. Plans, manages and oversees the development and direction of the 7th - 8th grade and High School programs, including the home curriculum, working with the Chamberlain Public School and the student recruitment process. This includes the summer program and needed break homes. 2. Supervises the 7th to 12th grade Residential Coordinators, Trainer, and associated Support Staff, promoting a common approach to residential care through systems of consistent feedback, staff development, goals, and performance reviews. This includes working closely with all Child Services departments to fully encompass a holistic approach for each student. 3. Serves as a Member of the Child Services Team to assist in the coordination of all student programming and to integrate aspects of Christianity, Catholicism, as well as Lakota spirituality and culture into that programming. 4. Authorizes admission and dismissal of students working in conjunction with the Child Services Administrative Team. Initiates and participates in reclaiming meetings as necessary. 5. Immediately reports any case of physical, emotional and sexual abuse to the proper authorities. 6. Keeps supervisor informed of issues, concerns, and emerging trends/needs related to programming as well as privacy protection and management. 7. Promotes awareness of St. Joseph's Indian School to other organizations by attending or presenting at meetings, seminars, etc. 8. Works collaboratively with the Data and Policy Manager to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate performance and quality improvement actions utilizing this information to make informed decisions about the future of residential programming. 9. Sets up, organizes and facilitates staff and parent meetings as necessary. 10. Works closely with the Chamberlain Public Schools in an effort to maintain a relationship that positively impacts the high school students. 11. Works with student travel, including the Germany Exchange Program, and coordinates all efforts to ensure a safe and positive experience for our students. 12. Works directly with Human Resources throughout the recruitment and hiring process to ensure adequate home staffing is in place. 13. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Executive Director of Child Services.
Qualifications
Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field - Master's Degree preferred Experience in residential care or related field required
