Job Description:

We are currently looking for an Equipment Manager to support our Employee Experience Center in Charlotte, NC. Working within an integrated Healthineers North America management system (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001) the role of this Radiation Safety Professional is to oversee all radioactive material licensing and X-ray registration requirements for the Siemens Healthineers Customer Experience Center. The position will report into the NAM MSC organization with oversight and guidance from the NAM HR EHS Radiation Safety Professionals.


Radiation Safety Professional functions include:


  • Maintain facility radioactive materials license and radiation-producing machine registrations

  • Adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Liaise with regulatory agencies as needed for inspections/amendments and equipment changes

  • Ensuring facility operational radiation safety

  • Document, develop, implement radiation protection programs and conduct periodic audits

  • Conduct radiation surveys using handheld radiation detection instrumentation.

  • Manage personnel dosimetry programs and keep records on radiation protection programs

  • Coordinate equipment and shielding installation

  • Coordinate of sealed source leak testing

  • Manage and coordinate dosimetry for Experience Center Guests and personnel

  • Assistance with operating Healthineers equipment on site

  • Support customer services organization with initial equipment servicing

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience


In order to meet the above responsibilities, the following are required:
Skills/Knowledge:


  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks with input from line manager

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to succinctly and accurately convey the technical elements of regulatory and corporate programs to others inside of the organization

  • A collaborative approach to problem solving that identifies and incorporates stakeholders in the development of solutions that facilitate compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements

  • Knowledge of both State and Federal ionizing radiation regulations including radiation generating devices and radioactive materials

  • Experience with handling radioactive material and xray systems (ideally PET or SPECT systems)

  • Experience and knowledge of Healthineers Products required

Required Experience:


  • Handling radioactive materials in support of installation, maintenance, calibration, and/or operation of nuclear imaging equipment

  • Training on the operation of radiation-generating equipment

Education & Experience:


Desired Training or ability to complete training upon hire:

  • 40 hour Medical Radiation Safety Officer or equivalent

  • DOT/IATA Dangerous Goods Shipping, with specialization in Radioactive Materials transportation
